Ronnie Wood for Liberty of London

http://www.urbalicious.com/2009/09/15/ronnie-wood-for-liberty-of-london/

Some of Ronnie Wood‘s paintings were transformed into a series of grafitti T-shirts and dresses designed by Liberty of London’s Creative Director, Tamara Salman. I really like them. The collection is available for pre-order exclusively online now and will be in store on 1st October. Wood says he’s proud that his paintings have been taken up by Liberty. This reminds the 1960s, when Bridget Riley said no to commerce, being horrified that her abstract paintings were ripped off by fashion designers and turned into Op Art style.

Four Easy Step For You To Select Shoes In Fall

http://www.urbalicious.com/2009/09/19/four-easy-step-for-you-to-select-shoes-... Easy step for you to Select Shoes In Fall

By Li Baocai

Maybe, you have beautiful clothing, but you need a pair of shoes to go with it, If there is no suitable pair of shoes to go with it, the whole image will be enough. To buy shoes, in addition to considering the quality of shoes, but also a reasonable match So, how do you select shoes to wear with an outfit?

1. Consider the different types of shoes:

* Stilettos- The ultimate sexy shoes that never go out of style. Stilettos go great with sleek clothes, pencil skirts or slim trousers. For a polished look, wear sleek strappy stilettos with a classic tailored pantsuit.

* Wedges- There’s a wedge for every female this season. Wedges go perfect with jeans, slinky skirts and full sweep sundresses, and they are also more comfortable than stilettos. This summer’s stylish slimming bootcut jeans are a sure favorite with wedges, or step out in style with this summer’s newest trendy gauchos. Wedges can be relaxed and casual when made of fabric, suede, or other coarsely textured materials, but can also dress up when crafted of high finish leathers or metallic leathers. Wedge pumps, wedge sandals, wedge boots; take your pick of different shoes with wedge heels, some with platforms as well.

* Platforms- For those who want to stand out, a chunky heel is ultra-leg flattering. These high performers made the biggest news on the runway this season. For those who are “full figured” or a bit on the heavy side, platforms provide balance for your form and help round out your look.

* Platforms go great with cuffed shorts, flare leg pants, and miniature bubble skirts. Try a slim-heel-platform with a suit or a soft silhouette evening dress for a touch of elegance.

* Kitten heels- These heels are timeless and go with just about everything. Kitten heels work with both office attire and evening attire. They are the practical alternative to high-heels. Perfect for dressing up with a slinky and elegant skirt or dressed down with casual capris. The perfect go-to-shoes for day or night.

* Sandals- “The It Shoe” of the season. Sandals are stylish and fun this season. They add a cool elegance to any casual look. They go perfect with skinny jeans, short skirts as well as this summer’s newest cuffed, cropped pants. Add a touch of romance with a triple-tired peasant dress or a flowing ankle length skirt.

* Mules- Step out in sophistication with mules and an elegant flowing skirt. These simple and versatile shoes have endless possibilities. Paired with twill pants or elegant georgette pants, is this seasons new take on feminine style.

* Boots- Boots are very universal, they can go with jeans, skirts, dresses, and more.

* Sneakers- The ultimate comfort shoe. However, be careful when picking sneakers for an outfit, they should be reserved for jeans or sweatpants.

* Flats- Flats are very comfortable, and they never go out of style. Ballet flats can be worn with almost anything, from dresses to jeans to sweats, they always look good.

* Loafers- A nice business-y shoe. They look great with pantsuits, jeans, and sometimes skirts.

2. Consider the weather, and season.

* During the summer, choose a summery shoe. Espadrilles and sandals are excellent choices.

* In the winter when it’s snowing and raining, boots are always good choices. If it’s just cold, a simple pump, loafer, or flat works as well.

* Spring, ah spring. Spring is very universal time for shoes, summery sandals and espadrilles are worn, but if you go outside wearing boots, you probably

won’t look crazy either. This a time where almost all of your shoe wardrobe can be worn.

* Fall is also a fairly universal time as well. The only thing I would suggest staying away from are sandals and espadrilles, as fall is a time where things are cooling down a bit, and sandals and the like are a little summery. If you can make it work though, go crazy!

3. Take a look at your outfit:

* If you’re wearing brown tweed pants and a burgandy sweater, those bright yellow pumps might clash a bit. Maybe a simple loafer? Are you wearing a red bracelet? A pair of red shoes would look simply smashing. Pick bits of color, and try to bring them out with your shoes. However, don’t wear a purple top with purple pants and purple shoes. You’ll probably look crazy.

* How dressy is it? Is it just jeans and a t-shirt? Then just some sneakers are fine, but any shoe nwill do. Are you wearing a dress? Go with flats or heels. Are you wearing a floor length ball gown? Go with heels.

4. Go with whatever looks good to you if all else fails. These are more or less guidelines, so if you think sneakers with a dress is the next big thing, go for it!

Birds on the Wires

It all started with a picture of birds perched on the wires of a street light, a normal scene, depending on the look. For Jarbas Agnelli, 46, the image “sounded” like music. Notes a score were what seemed to him the birds on power lines. Advertising and musician, Agnelli cut out the photo published in the newspaper and that night in his home studio, he began to write notes based on who saw the picture.

“Birds stacked chords and turned the lonely, notes on the keyboard,” said Agnelli. “Then I put the xylophone and as a result, clarinet, bassoon and oboe.” John, age 17, the middle son of Agnelli did not put any faith in the movement of his father, despite being accustomed to see him build upon the home movies and photos.  Jarbas is known journalist and award-winning campaigns. I already took the Grand Clio, a leading global advertising awards in 2001, delivered in Miami. At the time, he was still working in W / Brazil, the agency that was for 13 years. Today has its own business, AD Studio. “Inspiration can come from anywhere, but we must be alert,” he says.

Once the music of the birds was ready, Agnelli called Paulo Pinto. “I did not believe that he had understood what I saw at the time I took the photograph. For me, the birds also seemed to note,” wondered if Paul, who sent the e-mail the original, uncut. “When I saw the edited version in the newspaper had removed eight birds, or four notes at the beginning and four at the end of music,” says the publicist. “I was surprised because it was exactly what was needed to finish the tune.”

Suggested Diet For Your Weight Loss

diet.jpg

http://www.urbalicious.com/2009/09/19/suggested-diet-for-your-weight-loss/

I hope this is useful for your weight loss, rather than causing panic. A large portion of our country’s meat, chicken, and dairy products contain foreign estrogens that are used by farmers for profit and at the expense of our health. In addition, pesticide residues and many other petrochemical compounds with estrogenic properties are consumed in the food that is given to these animals and are subsequently concentrated in the milk and fat of the meat.

These harmful estrogens are then deposited in our fatty tissues and on estrogen and progesterone receptors where they are known to interfere in the proper utilization and production of natural progesterone & natural estrogen and have been implicated in promoting other more serious health problems such as fibrocystic breast disease and breast cancer. There are, however, “good” estrogens available in our food supply. By replacing animal proteins with saponin rich plant foods such as soy products we can introduce phytoestrogens (genistein), which have a higher affinity for estrogen receptors than “bad” estrogens and have been demonstrated to have protective influences against Endometrial & breast cancer.

Other Important Considerations include:

* Eliminate commercially grown meat, poultry & dairy (replace with Soy Products {Tofu}, Fish, or free-range organically grown animal meats and dairy)
* Consume more cold water fish and legumes for protein (or protein powder)
* Replace personal care products that contain petro-chemicals with those that are formulated with plant materials
* Avoid Hydrogenated fats and oils as they convert to Trans-Fatty Acids which increase breast cancer risk
* Eliminate completely artificial sweeteners and tobacco products
* Eliminate or reduce consumption of caffeine, alcohol, high fat dairy, and chocolate
* Read the following information on fiber
* Reduce consumption of simple sugars (they promote sharp blood sugar fluctuations)
* Increase cruciferous & dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, and whole grains (Organic if possible)
* Increase complex carbohydrates to 70% of daily caloric intake
* Consume low quantities of protein in the evening
* Consume smaller, more frequent meals or snacks
* Never go more than 4 hours during any day or 12 hours overnight without food
* Drink plenty of water (preferably distilled). 8 glasses daily. Fluid restriction can be harmful.
* Supplement with a properly formulated calcium formula
* Exercise (30-40 minutes four or five days per week)
* Laugh frequently! (preferably with your mate)
* Learn to successfully manage stress
* Replace Traditional Western Recipes with Soy and other Health Promoting Recipes

Don’t shop when you’re hungry. You’ll only buy more fattening food. Avoid finger foods that are easy to eat in large amounts. Avoid consuming large quantities of fattening liquids, which are so easy to overdo. And this includes alcoholic beverages. Keep plenty of crunchy foods like raw vegetables and air-popped fat-free popcorn on hand. They’re high in fiber, satisfying and filling. Leave something on your plate, even if you are a charter member of the Clean The Plate Club. It’s a good sign that you can stop eating when you want to, not just when your plate is empty.

Lose weight for yourself, not to please your husband, your parents or your friends. Make the kitchen off-limits at any time other than mealtime. Always eat at the table, never in front of the TV set or with the radio on. Concentrate on eating every mouthful slowly and savoring each morsel. Chew everything from 10 to 20 times and count! Never skip meals.
